Matt Nolan is a theatre-maker in every sense — a producer, teacher, writer, and designer whose work thrives where imagination meets craft.

Founder of The Matt Nolan Company, Matt has built a platform dedicated to creating bold, collaborative theatre that celebrates both tradition and innovation. The company is known for staging productions that few others dare to attempt — offering audiences stories that challenge, surprise, and inspire.

After graduating with a BA (Hons), Matt began teaching in Gloucestershire and further afield, sharing his love of theatre both in classrooms and rehearsal rooms. With a deep understanding of technical theatre, he relishes the challenge of bringing scripts to life — guiding stories from page to stage with precision and creativity.

He is currently producing Dick Whittington at Cheltenham Playhouse, the theatre’s professional pantomime. Now in its third year since Matt launched the tradition in 2023, the production has quickly become a festive favourite.

Passionate about collaboration, Matt is always open to fresh ideas and imaginative concepts. Through The Matt Nolan Company, he also supports other creatives — offering advice, financial backing, and connections to help ambitious projects find their stage.
